It is important that if any aspect of the child’s vision requires attention, it should be detected
early. “Lazy eye” is a childhood condition where the vision does not develop properly and
treatments may work LESS effectively after 8 years old.

If your child is diagnosed with myopia, apart from not seeing well, myopia also increases the risk of certain eye diseases including cataract & retinal detachment. Some may even lead to permanent loss of vision.
The higher the myopia, the higher the risk. The fastest progression is between 7 to 12 years of age. Therefore, it is best to start young to control myopia progression. In recent years, research has shown proven methods that can slow down myopia progression.
